Jessica Silverman is pleased to announce the gallery’s debut at the 2025 San Francisco Art Fair, taking place April 17–20. The group exhibition titled “Beloved Community” brings together leading Bay Area artists in dialogue with the gallery’s international program. Artists include Sadie Barnette, Andrea Bowers, Luke Butler, Emma Cousin, Julian Hoeber, Isaac Julien, Masako Miki, Woody De Othello, Clare Rojas, Davina Semo, Rupy C. Tut and Chelsea Ryoko Wong. This presentation highlights artists who are shaping the cultural landscape of the Bay Area, exploring themes of diaspora, belonging, and collective empowerment.

At the center of the booth, a shapely bronze sculpture by Woody De Othello, titled Capacity (2025), is structured like a tropical plant or one-man band where flowers mutate into trumpets or megaphones, and stamens transform into a fist or ear. A conduit for the sounds of the universe, Capacity is full-volume Othello.

Anchoring the booth is a glowing orange and pink neon sculpture by Andrea Bowers that spells out “Beloved Community.” The exhibition borrows its title from this work, which honors a phrase made famous by Martin Luther King Jr., underscoring themes of democracy, love, and collective humanity.

Isaac Julien will debut three new photographic collages paying tribute to visionary Italian-Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi. Drawn from his acclaimed series A Marvellous Entanglement, the works depict Bo Bardi within her iconic architectural spaces, gazing out over her adopted city of São Paulo. A Marvellous Entanglement is among ten major multi-channel film installations that will be on view during the San Francisco Art Fair at the de Young Museum in Julien’s first US retrospective.
