Lava Thomas: The 10 Best Museum and Gallery Shows to See this Fall
KQED has named Lava Thomas’ forthcoming solo exhibition, “Lineage,” one of “The 10 Best Museum and Gallery Shows to See this Fall.” Writer Sarah Hotchkiss highlights the exhibition’s large-scale drawings, which draw upon Thomas’ family history in post-Emancipation Texas. “Delicate lines and shading give luminous three-dimensionality to Thomas’ images of her ancestors,” Hotchkiss writes.
Lineage opens at Jessica Silverman on September 10 and will be on view through October 24, 2026.
