Jessica Silverman is pleased to participate in Frieze Los Angeles, which opens Thursday, February 16 and closes Sunday, February 20. The booth will consist of a curated selection of painting, sculpture, photography, and drawings, by seven of the gallery’s artists.
Also on view, a sculpture by Woody De Othello investigates reflection and interiority; and spirited new paintings by Clare Rojas and Dashiell Manley join color pencil and gold leaf abstractions on paper by Claudia Wieser.
Sculptures cast in resin by Matthew Angelo Harrison examine the economies of industry, culture, and Black identity. On view will be photographs from Catherine Wagner’s 1995 "Realism and Illusion" series, rarely-seen photographs of Disney theme parks across the world consider the illusory nature of built environments driven by forces within American culture.
Perspectives on domestic space are also explored in work by Sadie Barnette, presenting drawings and sculpture that speak to community, care, and her own family history in Oakland, CA.
