Assembly

Rooted in the artist’s interdisciplinary practice, Assembly, incorporates AI, sculpture, CGI, dance, and assemblage to create a Black quantum language. Located in the Wade Thompson Drill Hall, visitors first encounter a room with video-mapped walls that pulsate with imagery of diasporic fractals surrounding a 40-foot-tall hologram sculpture. An adjacent 350-seat theater serves as both art object and classroom surrounded by Newsome’s collages and sculptures.
