Art Basel Unlimited 2026

Art Basel Unlimited 2026

June 18-21, 2026

For Art Basel Unlimited, Jessica Silverman and Karma present a major new installation by Woody De Othello: two sides that hold truth (2026) comprises thirty five sculptures in materials such as ceramic, glass, stone, and wood, arranged in niches carved into a twelve-meter-long freestanding wall.

This altar-like work expands on Othello’s signature vocabulary of everyday objects—vessels, fans, mirrors, seashells, and phones—which he transforms into vivid psychological portraits. Drawing on precolonial African traditions like Dogon art, kemetic philosophy, spiritual texts, the installation infuses the inanimate with spirited animism, exploring how our emotional lives and collective memories are shaped by our relationship with the material world.
