Across generations, works by Loie Hollowell, Judy Chicago, and Julie Buffalohead engage feminist ideologies through mythology and allegory. Historic geometric lithographs from 1973 by Chicago in dialogue with paintings such as Hollowell’s Around the clock in flesh red and purple (2024), which engages spiritual abstraction to celebrate maternity, kinship and the corporeal bond of breastfeeding.
