Jessica Silverman is celebrating its tenth year of participation at Art Basel Miami Beach. From December 6 to 10 in booth B1, the gallery will present “Rays of Hope,” a group show exploring ancestral narratives and utopian cosmologies. Rose B. Simpson’s “Nightwork” is a new series of small clay figures. Their bodies are marked with shards of broken ceramic that document where the artist feels the emotions she processes during nightly rituals. By contrast, Simpson’s large bronze Cairn sculpture rises from the ashes to honor the loving accomplishment of mother and child.
Rupy C. Tut's handmade pigment painting on canvas and new tapestries depicting forested landscapes allude to the artist’s eco-spiritual sensibilities and subject matter.

On the heels of Judy Chicago's critically acclaimed New Museum retrospective in New York, the booth features several works including an important 1973 work titled Transformation Painting. The work offers a metanarrative of the artist’s evolution from her Great Lady paintings to The Dinner Party (1979), while Flowering Glass (2023), a painted lightbox, reinterprets the iconic image on the original cover of Chicago’s autobiography Through the Flower.
