December 2-4, 2021
Booth #H7
Jessica Silverman is pleased to announce a sweeping group presentation at Art Basel in Miami Beach 2021, featuring artists both new to and long part of the gallery’s program. The presentation will include works by Sadie Barnette, Andrea Bowers, Luke Butler, Judy Chicago, Theresa Chromati, Conrad Egyir, Matthew Angelo Harrison, Julian Hoeber, Dashiell Manley, Rashaad Newsome, Woody De Othello, Hayal Pozanti, Clare Rojas, Rose B. Simpson, Catherine Wagner and Chelsea Ryoko Wong. The gallery will also exhibit a new work by Egyir in the fair’s Meridians sector—a 20-foot tableau painting titled 700 Cycles of Somatic Renditioning that’s one of the artist’s largest works to date.
The booth highlights the gallery’s evolving program that is distinguished by a dedication to conceptual and material rigor. Designed as a capsule experience of the gallery’s new San Francisco location in Chinatown, the booth will present visitors with wallpaper, sculptures and paintings by Woody De Othello and three photographs from Catherine Wagner’s 1995 series "Realism and Illusion" as strong exterior elements, and thematic grouped presentations within.
On view will be a new text-based wall work by Sadie Barnette; a new cardboard piece by Andrea Bowers; a colored pencil piece by Judy Chicago from 1982; Conrad Egyir will present a series of intimate portrait paintings; new sculptures will be shown by Matthew Angelo Harrison and Rose B. Simpson; vibrant paintings by Julian Hoeber, Hayal Pozanti and Clare Rojas will be on view; conceptual collages by new gallery artist Rashaad Newsome; and a new oil painting by Dashiell Manley. Additionally, paintings from Theresa Chromati and Chelsea Ryoko Wong demonstrate Jessica Silverman’s dedication to both emerging and mid-career artists.
