The Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive plans to honor two acclaimed Bay Area artists at the institution’s second annual Art & Film Benefit. Filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist Cauleen Smith, well-known for her Oakland-set film “Drylongso,” will be paid tribute along with photo artist Catherine Wagner, whose new installation “Arc Cycle” made its debut at the new Moscone Station on the San Francisco Central Subway line in the fall of 2022. Both artists have been acclaimed internationally and are well known for their work, which often engages with themes and subject matter with strong Bay Area connections.
