For FOG Design+Art, Jessica Silverman Gallery presents “The Cultural Landscape,” a group show featuring new and historic works by Judy Chicago, Julian Hoeber, Isaac Julien, Dashiell Manley, Tammy Rae Carland, Hugh Scott-Douglas, Jiro Takamatsu and Nicole Wermers. The booth explores the long-standing art historical genre of landscape in relation to the social, political, and technological. For at least a century, the most innovative landscapes have not been principally about nature, but human intervention and psychological projection on nature. Through sculpture, painting and photography, the exhibition investigates landscape as a parallel universe of the imagination.
