Join Rose B. Simpson for the de Young Museum’s ninth annual Bransten Lecture. Working in ceramic, bronze, performance, and art cars, her practice centers around the figure as a proxy to address the emotional and existential impacts of global humanity. Simpson will discuss her practice and her upcoming exhibition LEXICON, which will transform Wilsey Court into a Southwest environment through a large mural and two custom cars.

Each year, the Bransten Lecture connects the community with the art and ideas of our time by providing a platform to artists and thought leaders such as Carrie Mae Weems, Lisa Reihana, Wangechi Mutu, and Isaac Julien.
